10 years ΕΜΝ (May 2018)

In 2018, to mark the occasion of its 10-year anniversary, the European Migration Network hosted its conference "Understanding Migration in the EU: past, present, future on May 15 2018 in Brussels. The anniversary conference brought together senior officials of the EU Institutions, representatives of the Permanent Representations of EU Member States, researchers, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as the members of the national contact points of the European Migration Network.

High level speakers from a diverse range of European and international organisations will share their perspective on issues such as the course of migration over the years from crisis management to future-proofed asylum and migration policies, the co-operation on migration issues as the only way forward, the building of stronger partnerships with third countries on migration, the public opinion and the citizens’ trust to the EU migration policy and the future of the European policy, the lessons learned over the past years and how this experience can shape the future of migration policy and practice.
